THE DERBY OPEN 2020
It is with the deepest regret that due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic we have had no choice but to cancel this years Derby Open. Clearly this situation will be ongoing for some time and for us to plan and organise in the hope we could still hold it would be wishful thinking.
Below is a statement from our membership and Derby Open organiser Jim S
24th April 2020
To All Last Year’s Competitors
Following yesterday’s announcement to extend the lock-down I am sorry to inform the Derby Open has been cancelled for the following reasons
-
The current restrictions may be extended again.
-
·Even when they are eased Social Distancing will apply for some time and gatherings may not be permitted.
-
·We could prepare to hold it, only for a second spike forcing another lock-down.
-
·It would not be possible to hold it later in the year as September is almost full.
With so much uncertainty we had no alternative, the important thing is that we all Stay Safe.
I look forward to seeing you all again and getting to shoot. Keep making ammo and cleaning guns.
Kind regards
Jim
